Description
Château de Beaucastel, Roussanne Vieilles Vignes is considered one of the best white wines in France, producing only 6,000 bottles of this wine. It is made from 100% very old Roussanne vines and is harvested slightly overripe. This exceptional wine should be drunk within 3 years or after 15 years.
The basement is made up of Miocene marine molasses covered by an alpine diluvium (layered pebbles).
Manual harvest, selection of the harvest, collection in boxes, pneumatic pressing, racking, fermentation (30% in pieces, 70% in tanks). Aged for 8 months (30% in barrels, 70% in vats).
Bottling at eight months.An elegant tunic of pale yellow color.
Its highly refined nose reveals opulent notes of white peach, quince jam, honeysuckle and candied ginger enhanced with a zest of grapefruit.
Particularly large, powerful and complex on the palate, it offers a pleasant mineral attack before evolving into lush roundness with magnificent aromas of mango, apricot and beeswax.
Finally, it continues with a long finish enhanced by a delicate bitterness.This great wine will accompany great dishes: beef tenderloin, pigeon with chanterelles or even kidneys. beef in cream.
