Description
This cuvée is made up of no less than 50 wines.
The traditional proportions of Semi-dry are: 40% to 45% Pinot Noir, 30% to 35% Meunier, 20% to 25% Chardonnay.
As with the other Veuve Clicquot blends, the Demi-Sec is mainly composed of Pinot Noir (40-45%), thanks to which it obtains its fundamental structure.
The search for a set of very different fruit flavors implies a higher level of Meunier (30-35%) in the blend than would normally be found in Yellow Label, for example, and the Chardonnay completes mix (20-25%).
The consistency of the Veuve Clicquot style is achieved with 30-45% reserve wines.
The long aging in our "Crayères" (minimum 3 years for Demi-Sec) is what gives the champagne its silkiness. Finally, a dose of 45 g/L gives the Demi-Sec a sweeter balance of flavors, while allowing it to retain the inherent freshness of the wine.
