Description
In 1810, Madame Clicquot invented the first vintage champagne. With exclusive grapes from Grands and Premiers Crus, Pinot Noir dominates the blend (51%) and provides that typical Clicquot structure, followed by Chardonnay (34%) which adds essential delicacy and elegance to any perfectly balanced wine and finally , the Meunier (15%) that rounds off the mix. The uniqueness of Vintage lies in a contribution of 11% of wines aged in large wooden barrels ('foudres'), which provide strength and aromatic intensity. Barrel-aged wines act as spices for the blend, providing very soft aromas of wood, vanilla and toast.
