Description
Rochefort is a brand of Trappist beers brewed in Rochefort Abbey, Belgium. This Belgian brewery produces three beers under the seal of Trappist beers, where it has been brewing since the 16th century at the hands of monks of the Cistercian Order of the Strict Observance.
Due to the damage caused by the First World War, the abbey had to rebuild the brewery with the help of Chimay, an allied monastery that in 1950 became its commercial competitor. Chimay offered them help to be able to brew new beers by offering them a new brewer, who helped in the production of new beers such as the well-known Rochefort.
