Description
Cillar de Silos is a tribute to the monk who was historically in charge of the stewardship in the Silos Monastery, known as Cillero, whose job was to organize the pantry or cellar, with the wine and food necessary for day to day of the religious.
According to tradition, the supply of wine for the Monastery of Silos during the 16th century was made in Quintana del Pidio.
As testimony to this historical fact that proves the wine lineage of the town, the Aragón García family opts for the sonorous name of Cillar de Silos to designate its wines and winery.
As a witness to history, Cillar de Silos also has an underground cellar dating from the end of the 16th century.
The natural conditions of humidity and temperature (between 11, 5º and 12º C) are constant throughout the year and are ideal for the wines to finish the aging process in the bottle.
