Leffe is a beer that keeps a brewing tradition since 1240, the year in which the canons monks decided to build a brewery to prepare a healthy and invigorating drink.
But during the French Revolution the abbey and the brewery closed, it was not until 1952, thanks to the abbot Nys and Albert Lootvoet, the brewery and the abbey started to work again retaking the brewing tradition of creating the Leffe beer from of the original recipe.
