Description

The fairly understated nose reveals notes of ripe bananas turning into vanilla. Despite a fairly lively attack, the mouth offers us a pleasant unctuousness. Ripe fruits give way to flambéed bananas. The finish is quite long and persistent.

1820. Until this date the manufacture of sugar was the main activity of the hacienda together with Tafia, precursor of rum. The La Mauny distillery develops the production of Agricole rum made with pure sugar cane juice extracted from canes grown on the land.

1929. The production unit is expanded and modernized with the installation of a distillation column, new grinding mills and a steam engine. The volume of production can then begin to supply the demand of Martinique consumers.

1996. Maison La Mauny Agricole rums obtain the AOC (Protected Designation of Origin) label in 1996. Maison La Mauny expands and its know-how has been recognized by consumers and jury experts in metropolitan France and throughout the world for more than 20 years; they win many awards for the set of their products.

2015. La Mauny reinvents itself becoming Maison La Mauny; the brand focuses on its Martinique roots and terroir. Proudly displaying the colors of Martinique, the brand reorganizes and expands its range to highlight its unique know-how.
