Desmond Payne, Beefeater Master Distiller, is responsible for this innovative creation that joins the traditional recipe of Beefeater gin.

The idea of including different botanists in the mixture was thanks to a trip he made in the Far East, he could see that quinine, banned in Japan, gives a touch sweet tonic, however being banned he had to think of another alternative. Desmond was tested for 18 months with different teas and mixtures, until he obtained as a result Beefeater 24.
