The creation of the recipe for this beer took nine months during which the Chimay brewmasters carried out numerous tests.
The result is an authentic Belgian Trappist beer with aromas of nuts and spices and a refreshing taste, brewed with Saaz and Hallertau Mittelfrüh hops.

Durante el verano de 1850, un pequeño grupo de monjes se instaló en la meseta salvaje de Scourmont, cerca de Chimay. Alrededor del monasterio, se construyeron una granja, una cervecería y una fábrica de queso.
