The origins of beer Lucifer back to 1872, when the brothers Van Breedam decided to leave Molenberg to move to Mechelen and become brewers. Once there, they decided to buy a brewery founded in 1471 at which they decided to call Het Anker and is now one of the best known in Belgium.

One style beer strong ale which is made from a mixture of water and cereals where it is added malt, once obtained the must is filtered and added hops, once mixed, it boils and centrifuged and then pass to the fermentation step at a low temperature for seven days. Finally, it matures and bottled, place where the second fermentation, where it is added sugar and yeast performs and usually lasts about three weeks.

golden color with a layer of compact white foam that gives off a complex aroma and fruity with hints of cereal, malt and hops, it tastes sweet and smooth with fruity and bitter.

A principios del siglo XV , el amuleto de Mechelen estaba fuertemente presente en la ciudad. El Beaterio tuvo un importante "Krankenhuis" que se encuentra en el sitio actual de la fábrica de cerveza, que algunos edificios datan de los siglos 15 y 16, entre ellos el viejo San Bernardo Abbey Refugio Hemiksem.
