The Glenallachie Distillery was built by Mackinlays in 1967 to meet demand for its blends following a rebound in sales in the United States.
In its short history it has passed through the hands of Invergordon Distillers and Pernod-Ricard.
During this period it has always focused on supplying blends, with more than 20 years between the first Mackinlay distillery bottling of its single malt and the next official Chivas Brothers release in 2005.
Now in the hands of Billy Walker, Glenallachie is finally being pushed forward as an increasingly popular single malt brand since 2017.
Intense notes of mocha and molasses on the nose , followed by heather honey, sultanas and eucalyptus. Meanwhile, on the palate there are waves of dark chocolate, dried fruit and figs, followed by nutmeg, pineapple and orange zest.
