In 1969 Centenario Internacional opens its doors. Initially, different Scottish malts were bottled, which allowed the first 4 rums to begin aging in American white oak barrels: Samba, PaloViejo, Ronrico and Ron Platino. This is how their story begins, but this would only be the beginning. Almost a decade after the birth of the first Costa Rican Rum, they create Centenario Commemorativo, proudly aged for 4 years. On the horizon of Rum they still had a lot to conquer. That is why they created Centenario Blanco, and with the best coffee in the world, Don Braulio, our coffee liqueur, was born, which would become Centenario Café in 2016. In the following two years, Ron Centenario 20 Fundación (2005 ) and for 2006 the new Ron Centenario 7 Añejo especial and Ron Centenario Commemorativo, which would become its current 9-year-old rum. The first exports were of 2 of the most iconic products of its family: Ron Centenario 20 Fundación and Ron Centenario 7 Special Añejo. Both brought the taste of Costa Rica to the United States and Germany. They continued to do what they do best: world-class rum. Creating older, more premium rums. Thus, all its bottles increased their years in barrels, such as Ron Centenario 12 Gran Legado and Ron Centenario 5 Añejo Selecto. Great bottles emerged from its history: Ron Centenario Oro, Ron Centenario 25 Gran Reserva, Ron Centenario 30 Limited Edition and the jewel of our rums: Centenario Real in 2015. Our legacy and history continue, because each bottle of Ron Centenario is unique: that makes us take it to more than 29 countries around of the world a little piece of Costa Rican Rum and be awarded more than 62 medals in prizes worldwide. All rums are made by Costa Rican hands, with pure water from the central volcanic mountain range. They are aged in the only rum cellar in Costa Rica, immersed in nature, and strategically located in a wooded area of San José that, being surrounded by rivers and trees, maintains optimal levels of freshness and humidity.
