Description
This gin was created in the heart of Maison Villevert, a 16th-century family estate very close to Cognac. It is a grape-based gin made in France just as the master distiller imagined it.
Robicquet wanted to break with the established and skip the rules by including the grape flower in the recipe.. Offering this way to lovers of gin an incomparable experience without neglecting passion and French luxury. The uniqueness and complexity of the grape flower hides the aromatic secret of gin. This ephemeral flower, which appears for only a few days, usually in June, reveals to the winemaker when the grapes will be ready for harvest, which will be approximately 100 days later.
The collection of the flowers takes place in spring and, as a consequence, in September there will be less grapes to harvest. In addition to this, we must not forget that atmospheric agents, such as frost or hail, can also reduce or spoil the harvest, making it an exceptional, unusual and delicate product.
While the vast majority of gins worldwide are produced with distilled grains, Robicquet and Maison Villevert opt for using grape alcohol. A much more intense sweetness than that of cereal alcohol and its extreme softness give rise to a balanced gin.
