This Cognac house specializes in using only the heart of the distillate for its spirits and selecting fine-grained Limousin oak for its casks, making each release spectacularly elegant and refined. In 1850, two brothers were sent from Silesia to France to obtain the best spirits for the Russian Tsar Alexander II. With limited success, they soon realized that they would have to start producing their own brandy to meet the demands of the Russian royal family. Finally, in 1862, they opened their own distillery in Charente. Although Meukow Cognac was created for royalty, it soon became popular with people of all backgrounds and is now available in more than 80 countries. Cellar Master Anne Sarteaux has been overseeing production at Meukow since 2007, creating elegant expressions that are sure to impress cognac lovers everywhere. The signature panther motif that adorns each bottle was created in 1995 to express the bold and elegant character of Meukow Cognac.
