Description

In 1780, Robert Samuels, a third generation Scots-Irish immigrant, came to Kentucky. He was a farmer and made his own whiskey for personal consumption.

The first commercial distillery was founded in 1840 by Robert's grandson. Who started the commercial production of the family recipe. Recipe that he bequeathed to his son, and so on, until reaching the hands of Bill Samuels, father of the current President. That he had his own ideas. In a ceremony, Bill burned the more than 170-year-old family recipe. What might seem like a challenge to the family heritage, meant the discovery of a new type of bourbon. Achieved through grain type research. Maker's Mark is the result of a new recipe based on local corn, malted barley and soft red winter wheat. In 1953, Bill had the recipe, but he lacked the still. He bought and rebuilt a small distillery in Loretto, a Kentucky town of 1,000. It had clean and clear water, with limestone filtrations.

Makers Mark 5cl

The Markers Mark is a reduced-production whiskey that continues to be made using traditional bourbon techniques. The basis of its quality is centered on the rigorous selection of grain from small farms, spring water and its own yeasts. A delicacy that you will get at TCM Gourmet.
