La historia de esta bebida, relatan, es la historia de tres hombres, un bar y un mal gin-tonic. Era verano, corría el año 1998 y tres amigos, entre los que se encontraba el mismísimo Martin Miller, admiraban en un sosegado pub de Nothing Hill otros tantos gin-tonics de cuestionable apetencia. El susodicho, en el momento en el que se cansó de admirar aquel engendro coctelero, dijo a sus acompañantes: «¿Sabéis lo que voy a hacer?». «No», respondieron estos. «Voy a fabricar mi propia ginebra».
