Description
It is made from a blend of carefully selected malt and grain whiskeys from four of the country's specialty whiskey regions in Islay, Speyside, The Highlands, and The Lowlands, and is aged for at least 3 years in high quality oak barrels, which gives it its characteristic flavor and light golden color. The influence of the five master blenders such as George Ballantine (1827), George Robertson (1937), Jack Goudy (1959), Robert Hicks 1994 and Sandy Hyslop 2005, have made Ballantines the number 1 Scotch whiskey in Europe and also the number 2 in the world according to IWSR studies in 2015.
