1L Glenfarclas 105 Cask Strength is matured in sherry casks ex, which are made from European oak. Because they were seasoned with fine sherry, whiskey absorbed many of the lush flavors of sherry and also received a nice dark color.
On the palate the strong influence of the European oak sherry and remains in the foreground while the black chocolate, nuts and slightly spicy notes are slightly less present. Because of the high alcohol content, the drink has a certain power, but also looks silky and oily.
The finish is long and surprisingly smooth. It gets a little dry and offers hints of dried fruit, black chocolate and even a hint of smoke.
