John Sober was the heir to a small distillery on top of Mount Gilboa in the year 1703. The family Sober finally hired Sir John Gay Alleyne to take the reins of the distillery, an idea that was so successful that the family decided to rename the distillery itself with its name.
Mount Gay Eclipse is the true symbol of the house, a style and a very distinct aroma that the mixer master, Trudiann Branker, wanted to use for a rum where all varieties of the Mount Gay Rum is mixed.
A rum distilled by traditional column and pot double return that is aged in charred ex-bourbon that gives off a pleasant aroma of vanilla and banana with notes of caramel and spice that tastes oak with light notes smoked.
