En 1883, Henri Grandin, notario y aficionado al buen vino, se casó con la señorita Pouillet de Limesle cuya familia poseía las bodegas de «La Bouvraie» en las antiguas cristalerías reales de Luis XIV situadas por debajo de un espléndido château en Ingrandes sur Loire. En 1886, lanzó un vino efervescente elegante que sigue llevando su nombre.
