This beer came Beer Whiskey Infused launched once a year as a limited edition, but it was so good the claim that the factory decided to give a gap giving it the name Carolus Cuvée Van de Keizer Whiskey infused.
Its preparation is made from a base of Van de Keizer Blue enriched with an infusion of whiskey Carolus Single Malt, giving as a result a mixture provides a powerful and subtle flavor which are perceived notes of oak, chocolate and vanilla.

A principios del siglo XV , el amuleto de Mechelen estaba fuertemente presente en la ciudad. El Beaterio tuvo un importante "Krankenhuis" que se encuentra en el sitio actual de la fábrica de cerveza, que algunos edificios datan de los siglos 15 y 16, entre ellos el viejo San Bernardo Abbey Refugio Hemiksem.
