House of Angostura, or Angostura Limited is a company founded in 1830 by German physician Johan Gottlieb Benjamin Siegert in the city of Angostura, Venezuela. The goal of Dr. Siegert was to find a remedy to heal the digestive discomfort of the soldiers, objective met after four years of trial and error creating a ""bitters"".
Angostura not only bitters produced, is also responsible for the distillation of rum, including the Angostura 1919. A premium rum rum aged at least eight years in American oak barrels toasted who have previously contained bourbon is.
