Remi Vander Ghinste decided to buy the Brasserie Omer Vander Ghinste for his son Omer, a brewery founded in 1952 whose first production was a typical Flemish beer Flanders, called Ouden Tripel. In 1898, Omer married Marguerite Vandamme, heir to the brewery Brasserie Le Fort.
The beer brand Le Fort was born in 2013 as a tribute to the father of Marguerite, founder of the Brasserie Le Fort, Felix Verscheure. Dark Brown LeFort part of the range of beers LeFort mark, a top-fermented beer with secondary fermentation in the bottle.

Las raíces de nuestra fábrica de cerveza se remontan a mayo de 1892. Fue un momento en que cada cervecero elaboraba su propia cerveza especial. No fue diferente en Bellegem, un pueblo rural en el oeste de Flandes, a un tiro de piedra de la frontera francesa. En ese mismo año, los primeros barriles de "Ouden Tripel", lo que hoy se llama "VanderGhinste Oud Bruin", rodaron por los adoquines en Bellegem y fueron famosos hasta Flandes.
