Founded in 1964 by some merchants of whiskey from Glasgow, which began to produce blended whiskey and single malt type, so were the beginnings of the Tomintoul distillery. Tomintoul Distillery Ltd. is located in the Scottish Speyside region, near the River Spey.
Among medium-bodied whiskeys and light is the Tomintoul 16 years, single malt scotch which has matured for 16 years in American white oak barrels that previously contained bourbon.
As a result whiskey very gentle soft drink in which include notes of spicy oak, herbaceous and vanilla is obtained. Its finish is light, very fresh and rewarding.
